Lava Caverns is the volcanic mid-game crucible — the zone that decides whether a player will stick with Slime RNG long enough to reach the Void. It sits between the safe pastel worlds (Beginner Pond, Candy Land, Jungle) and the brutal HP walls of the late-game zones, and its enemy density is what pushes most players into their first Rebirth. The biome's signature is the Forge Altar at the bottom of the cave system, where the Magma Slime crafting recipe gates the only fire-element Huge path currently in the game.
